A small device for big phenotyping studies
A small device for big phenotyping studies
„Do you want to test thousands of plants but you only have a small space under the roof? We are developing the Smart Phenotyper just for you."

In agriculture and biotechnology, there is a rapid advent of automation and digitization in order to streamline production, but also to develop new agrochemicals and new varieties suitable for cultivation in adverse climatic conditions. Plant phenotyping is a method in which sensors measure plant parameters and monitor how their growth and development (phenotype) responds to changes in the environment or to other experimental interventions.
Smart Phenotyper is highly integrated phenotyping device that is portable, independent, space-saving, and yet it offers similar functions as large phenotyping systems with the additional benefit of simple scalability. Smart Phenotyper is able to simulate various cultivation conditions and to monitor plants reactions via camera imaging. This machine enables you to perform phenotyping experiments without big investments, installation or infrastructure necessary for large phenotyping systems.

We are preparing a space-saving, affordable device for high-efficiency plant phenotyping. The system enables industrial integration within the automation of plant sample handling. The device can be easily transported, exhibited, lent for testing and possibly rented. It opens up opportunities for the development of new plant varieties and agrochemicals to combat the effects of global climate change.
Our goal is an independent system for automated high-throughput plant phenotyping with the possibility to readily expand the screening capacity by increasing the number of units measuring 80x120x180cm that could be easily transported. The units can have adjustable culture parameters and they send phenotyping data independently of each other, so they can be combined into networks to model different climatic situations and test the effects of agrochemicals in combination with environmental influences. The device capacity is approximately 120 plants with a size of 10 cm or up to 6,000 germinating plants with a size of 1 cm.
We are currently in the process of the device development. Contact us here and participate, so that the device best meets your requirements.
